Inert Waste Recycling
All inert waste that we collect is reprocessed and reused in construction projects or used as top fill at landfill sites.
Inert waste materials include soil, sand, clay, concrete and more. Although many of these materials are disposed of at landfill sites, they incur a much lower rate of disposal than standard waste. Read more about landfill tax and what it means for your business.
Waste is considered inert provided:
- It doesn’t undergo significant physical, chemical or biological transformation
- It doesn’t dissolve burn or otherwise physically nor chemically react, biodegrade or adversely affect other matter that it comes into contact in a way likely to give rise to environmental pollution or harm to human health.
- Its total leachability and pollutant content and the eco-toxicity of its leachate are insignificant and, in particular, do not endanger the quality of any surface or groundwater.
